K4BAI, John T. Laney III - K4BAI, 5W fpqso=23 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=10 spc=25 total=1975
FT1000MP, 5W, zepp, dipole, inverted vee. 20 was dead. 40 was strange, with some long distance stations very loud (W7OM, WB0OEW), and some almost local stations coming through too (W9ILF, IN and AC4QX, NC). N4BP was weak and couldn't hear me. Also heard but couldn't work AD7AN and VE3FUJ. And Bert, K6CSL, came in strong, but lost me before we got the exchange. 80M was quiet. I heard, but didn't work, N1WPU and N5RDN on that band. 40M: 20 QSOs and 14 mults. 80M: 13 QSOs and 11 mults. Thanks for all QSOs. I will be one of the 40M QRP Foxes this Thursday and hope to work you all then. Also, look for me as PJ4/K4BAI from Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles, Nov 25 to Dec 1 and with W4OC as PJ4A in CQ WW DX CW Contest. 73/72, John, K4BAI.
N4BP, Bob Patten, 5W fpqso=22 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=9 spc=22 total=1650
20M dead at the start as expected. But 40M also seemed in poor shape. 14 QSO's on 80M, by far the highest total on that band. Very strange condx from down here in SFL.
Thanks for all the Q's, piggies.
KB4QQJ, Randy, 5w fpqso=26 fpdxqso=1 nonfpqso=4 spc=17 total=1479
Well that was a load of fun! Didn't hear anybody on 20m, but 40 was hot for a while and then 80 opened. Seemed like Texas was the only state on for a while. hi hi 31 QSO's and 10 of them were Texas stations!
Strongest signal was N4BP in FL at 10 over. Lot of real 599's this time. Maybe the bands are finally taking a jump up. 817ND 5w into a doublet at 65 feet. Keys were 1942 McElroy Bug, NT9K Custom Cootie and a Begali Spark straight key. Thanks to all and BCNU.

Howdy gang: Well, got lots of noise over here tonight with the storms blowing in over my head. Wanted to get on anyway and play around with my new antler. Put up a Titan DX and running A/B tests with it against my loop. Titan wins hands down on all band over 80 meters. Worked N4BP first call on 40 and have never been able to do that before regardless of conditions. Lots of other folks on all though it seemed to take awhile for the bands to come in. Lots of folks on 80 this run. That was fun ! To bad all those nets have moved in on the calling freq. Anyhoo, lots of positive things going on with the antenna and some changes in the rig. Had a blast. see ya'll next month hopefully. OO Jerry

This was my first RUN for the BACON, and it was quite enjoyable. Only ran 80 meters here tonight. 20 meters was dead, 40 meters, I had nothing heard of FP stations in first15 minutes, so went to 80. Used my Ten Tec Argosy 525 @ 5W into an 80 meter full wave loop. States worked were IN, KY, PA, AL GA, TX, FL, IN, TN, MI, NC, OH. Great test for the little rig. Looking forward to future Runs. Ed

I am glad RTTY signals did not take over the frequency as it did with the other cw contest this weekend.

Stormy, I had to quit for a while, but I made a few QSOs. Some signals were good, but others were weak. I tried very hard to work n0oe, and I was able to get the info, but conditions were tough. I'm not sure n0oe got my info. But thanks!
n5rdn, Rob, 5w fpqso=7 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=5 total=105
Still new to this, thanks to all who put up with me, had fun.
K9EW, Ed, 3w fpqso=5 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=1 spc=5 total=80
Only had a little while to play on the radio, but made 6 QSO's in 16 minutes on 80m. Running 3w with a Wilderness Sierra and an 80m dipole at 15 feet. tnx es 72 - ed, k9ew.
ad7an, Tim Gordish, 5 watts fpqso=5 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=1 spc=5 total=80
Had a great time operating from my corner of FP territory. Seems like stations heard were either near by or across the country. Heard stations in the background but could not read them.
n5pj, Perry Jenkins, 5 watts fpqso=4 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=2 spc=5 total=70
Ma6 qso first time to try this contest. Was fun. Worke only 40 meters on my buddipole on a AGM/Gel cell battery.

My very first Run For The Bacon. Just got my number this morning. Only 5 contacts. I guess I am a little piggie. I had fun. I enjoy 2 hour contests/sprints. Look forward to next month. Thanks Flying Pigs.
KJ4HYG, Chris Howard, 5W fpqso=5 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=1 spc=4 total=64
My first Run For The Bacon as a new FPqrp member. Enjoyed it a lot. I was intrigued by the way the band was acting. 20m was totally dead, and 40m kept dropping out. I also think that my antenna is somewhat inefficient, because I was consistently receiving 339 report when I heard them 599. 73, Chris, KJ4HYG
KK5NA, Joe, 5 W fpqso=4 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=4 total=48
Only worked a short time. 40M was noisy at first but as the storm moved out stations were booming in. John K4BAI was really loud! Then I had to run an errand and had to quit. But had fun chasing piggies. Rig K3 @ 5w Ant: EDZ @ 55'.
OO Joe

Bands so poor I thought my rig had died as only three sharp eared fellow pigs could could pull me out of the ether.
ve3kqn, VE3KQN, 4 watts fpqso=3 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=3 total=27
Conditions here were not much better then last month with high QRN levels on 80 and 40. Hard to believe it was the same weekend with the good band condx and dx signals. Thanks to WA0ITP, K4AVX and KB4QQJ for pull my signal out of the mud. Was using a random wire antenna up approx 30 feet.

1st time to try this. Only tried 40m using ATS3A (too lazy to change band filter). heard several stations in the noise that I could not cpy (k6iv & ne5ll). ne5dl and ae5kmy were very patient. Thanks

K6CSL, BERT, 5W fpqso=1 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=1 total=3
Very quiet 40M band here in Riverbank, CA. TNX to AD7AN for our QSO. I did QSO with John, K4BAI in GA, but signal didn't hold up long enough for me to get his number. 73's to all and to all a good night. Bert, K6CSL

This was my first Run for the Bacon. I was pleased with the amount of stations on the air. Our new chapter of FP International North Central Tennessee Chapter will soon be running for the bacon as WA4PIG. Can't wait.... I worked 40 as long as it lasted then headed to 80 for a short time. Worked one station K6TLL in Tule Lake CA. First time in a while to the west coast. I love this QRP stuff. Used my ICOM 706 with a Cushcraft A4 up 30 feet. 72, KM6NN John

Strangely I only made out 1 stns call, that was all I got,the rest I just couldn't make out. I gave up at 1038 pm, cleaned the Cats box, entered my score and went to bed. I told myself better luck next time. Must have been a poor nite for most?? Thi was also my first RFTB try, there will be more. Brion
