K2 @ 5w to OCF 80m dp for 20, 40, and 80 along with an 80m vert for 80. Tried 20 for a few minutes but no activity. Went to 40 and it seemed pretty good. Worked a few there then went to 80 but the QRN was awful. Worked 2 in spite of the noise then gave up and went back to 40 and worked a few more there. Given the noise on 80, 40 seemed awful quiet. Thanks to all who stopped by. And thanks to the guys who do the work to make it possible. See ya' next month! dave, ab9ca/4

Burned out from the ARRL DXCW! QRN was horrendous. After thirty minutes could not hear anyone not already worked (40M). Big signals from W1PID, W2SH, AA1MY, and W2LJ. Didn't seem like a move to 80M would yield any bacon, so folded it up for some much needed sleep! Thanks for the QSOs.

Nice Bacon Run, 160m and 80m had high QRN levels here in WNY. Worked Bob C6AKQ in Bahama. Nice Piggy turnout. 73 to all.
n0jrn, Jerry, 5 fpqso=13 fpdxqso=1 nonfpqso=6 spc=12 total=600
WOW, the QRN is tough but had a lot of fun for the short time I got to play. Got my very first DX piggie thanks to Bob ( N4BP ) on his vacation as C6AKQ. Found #1 up on .104 and ran into Mikey ( #68 ) and Randy ( #22 ) Quite an eventful night. Alas, it's raining here and it's making me pull the plug earlier then I wanted. Guess I'll get back to the work bench now. Hope ya'll had fun and maybe we'll see ya agian next month. OO Jerry

Was it the Olympics? If it weren't for the C7A, WA and TX contacts I'd have thought my feeder was cut most of the time. Had the luxury of switching between the 176' EDZ @ 55' and a new 44' c.f. vert @50'. Only 2 Q's up in the new/old 40m pen. 80m was S/5-7 rumbling so only 3 "local" Q's there. Looks like it was rough all around eh? I'll be looking in next month... thanks again FPqrp!

40 was great. 80 not so great.

Worked C6AKQ of the Bahamas. Conditions on 40M faded fast after the first half hour. Noticed more static tonight than usual. Hope to participate again in March. Best to all from FP # 1361 in Nebraska.

First Bacon Run I’ve made since last October. Noise level was high on 40m for mid winter and propagation was strange. At first had trouble copying the mid-west, which usually has strong signals. But, worked Washington state and Rhode Island. Then the band opened to the mid west and WB0FDJ put in a good signal with 0.5 watt from MN. By then, though, most of the pigies had landed in their pig pens. I QSY’d to 80m and managed one contact there. Hopefully there will be more activity next month. Probably a lot of guys did all their hamming in the DX contest this weekend. Very 72 & OO y’all, Dick W5TA.

Missed the last run so wanted to get on for this one. 40M sounded terrible at the outset but managed 10 Q's in 22 minutes. Then the band went kerfluee. Where did everyone go? Best DX was Seab AA1MY. Nice to pick up Bert K6CSL and Jim AL7FS. Jim heard me off the back of the beam so I switched to the 80M loop. Didn't hear Bob in the Bahamas. Got on 80M but nothing doing so early in the evening. Figured I'd wait until after 7pm local. CQ'd from 0305 to 0330 and no answers so hung it up. I probably should have stayed in the chair but what the heck. It's a hobby! 73 and OO Paul NG7Z

My HF2V wasnt hearing many strong sigs but I mostly camped out on 40 meters and forgot to check above 7100. Was there for the first hour. About three hours before this run started I did work into Spain during the dx test.

Sure was rough going last night. 20m was dead, 80m was very noisy, and signals were weak on 40m. Haven't run for the bacon in quite a while, and guess I was out of shape. Only had seven contacts, but they were all appreciated. Rig is TenTec Argosy, and wire antennas. 73 - ed, k9ew.

QTH = SW Houston, TX. Rig = Elecraft KX-1. Ant = Antique vertical. All QSOs were on 40M. I tried 80M with my Ft. Tuthill 80, but no piggies were found. CNDX were variable, but it was VFB to work Bob (N4BP) C6AKQ in the Bahamas and AA1MY in Maine. It was fun, and I'll be back! 72 de Andy W5ACM

40m was pretty good (k9ew,k0nwt,w5ta,ab9ca &n0jrn); 80m heard more static than stations (ka2kgp & k1ulf)
using ic-703+ & g5rv; Diz, was really operating ?!

Nice. turned the Softrock v6.2 on for a minute and heard VE3MO's CQ FP so i checked the webpage and found that there was a contest going. I been off the air for almost a year. I just got my Softrock going again a week or so ago.
Kind of nice to be back.

After the ARRL DX contest I still had enough stamina to do "Run for the Bacon"... see y'all next month.

Not a lot of activity - I guess everyone is worn out from the DX Contest. It was nice hearing Bob from the Bahamas. Thanks to all! 72 de W2LJ

Tons of QRN on 40 and 80. C6AKQ was the best sig heard the entire time. 73

Nice to hear some piggies in there after such a great weekend of DX with CQ WW. Did the speeds seem slow tonight by comparison? (Grin)
Didn't hear much action on 7.104 tonight, but like it there.
Only had an hour but RFTB is always fun. Thanks for those patient ops able to pull my indoor antenna signal out of the noise.
w8diz, Diz, 5 fpqso=05 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=4 total=60
Parked it on 7104 and worked 30 minutes; got KK5NA, W9NX, N0JRN, W2LJ and KB5JO. Heard a few more weak sigs but could not pick them out. All I can say is I need a better antenna.
Was fun.

I could hear W0PQ and we tried but QSB was tough! It was cool to work C6AKQ for my first DX in the RFTB (2 months now!). Lotta Fun This Weekend!!

First on air CW since loosing my hearing in left ear, one ear ain't enuf...LOL. Enjoyed hearing Jerry, N0JRN as my first contact. Lots of static here tonight...must be the snow coming in. Nothing up at 7104, three Q's on 7044 and one down on 3562. Thanks guys...really enjoyed it and needed to get back in the saddle.

IC-7000 @ 5W to vertical loop. Noisy conditions, only worked 3 FPs though I could hear a couple more. Worked C6AKQ on 40, AA1MY and KA2KGP on 80. 72/73 Al VE3RRD FP2030

KX1 at 3 watts. 28' random wire in garage. Didn't hear many participants in the pig pen this time. Only worked 40 meters for about an hour after the ARRL CW DX contest. QRN was pretty bad.

40m CW 02/22/10 0213 NG7Z 599 CA 599 WA 1123
40m CW 02/22/10 0227 WC7C 599 CA 599 WA NMbr(Couldn't get his Pwr)
I started on 20, band sounded dead. Went to 40 and right away worked Paul, NG7Z up in WA. I called Doug, WC7C also in WA. My sigs were too weak there to be able to get his power. He apparently is a non-member of FP. I continued tuning 40 until 03:20Z and moved to 80. Absolutely no one there, so I returned to 40, and it also sounded dead. I ran out the clock calling CQ on 7044 with no replies. I could hardly believe 40 was the same band that 24 hours prior was "wall to wall" Eu stations in the ARRL DX CW Contest. 73's to all, Bert, K6CSL
AL7FS, Jim Larsen, 5 watts fpqso=1 fpdxqso=0 nonfpqso=0 spc=1 total=3
I just had to try this tonight. I only worked NG7Z in WA. Later at 0440Z I heard a few stations above 7.100...WA5KRU and WB9NFD. Don't know how much power they were running. My antenna these days for 40 and 80 is a 230ft loop up only 35 feet. I still have the KLMKT34A at 35 feet on 20 meters. I heard zero signals on 20 meters. 73, Jim, AL7FS

Was waiting on 7.104 as Diz had mentioned and heard him come on...so I did get one contact in spite of the rainstorms near.
Rig= K3 @ 5W and ANT= EDZ @55 ft.
